Aditional to Canon 20x lens lens there is a 70-200mm F.4.0L series lens + XL adapter & Canon 500mm FD f:8.0 Cat with custom made FD-XL adapter

Editing is made on a Vaio FE590 laptop, 2.16 duo core (aditional 22" monitor) with Sata II external drives tied to an express 34 card

Photographic equipment consists in a Canon Rebel XT with 300mmF4.0L lens + 1.4x extender, speedlite flash.

(A 300mm F2.8L with a 2x extender would be a lot better but is beyond our budget)

The first step in Environmental Conservation is to learn about the species and their behavior. On this website: www.hummingbirdsguide.net we intend to do exactly that, to let people learn about hummingbirds. Field guides and books about hummingbirds are easy to find but they do not tell the whole truth about these tiny birds. The video image describing colors, shapes and behavior is the best way to learn. After the success of The VideoGuide of the Birds of Venezuela (www.ferrarofilms.net/AVES VIDEOGUIA.htm), we decided to go ahead and to produce The Hummingbirds Guide.

We  do not have sponsors, we have always accomplished the tasks  with the help of friends and lodges owners to finance part of the trips to get the footage in the different countries. If you are the Owner or Manager of a Lodge and you are interested in getting a video of the hummingbirds in your area you are the ideal candidate to help in the realization of The Hummingbirds Guide. Please contact us.

The Producer

I was born in Italy in 1944, but I made my whole life in Venezuela where I inmigrated with my parents in 1949. I was a lecturer at the Universidad Simón Bolívar in Caracas for 25 years. In  1995 I retired to devote myself to what I love the most: Nature. My career in the wildlife area (formerly a Chemist) began as a photographer in 1975 and in 1993 I published Venezuela, Paradise for Birds. After that a prolific career started, producing more than a hundred  documentaries in many different areas, especially Nature, Wildlife and Ecotravel, on land and under the sea, for TV and Cable, for Tourism operations and for the web. Some of my recent works can be seen in the website; www.ferrarofilms.net.  During the last couple of years the challenge of shooting Hummingbirds grew up  and grew up to the point that at present it has become the main and almost the solo interest.
